What is the Community Safety Forum

What is our purpose

The Community Safety Forum (CSF) is the over-arching committee whose remit is to retain an overview of community safety activities in the Scottish Borders, directing future developments in line with regional and national priorities.

In true partnership working the CSF seeks to:

  • gather good quality information in the planning stage, which will:
  • enable resources and services to be developed and implemented in a proactive way rather than in a reactive way.

The Community Safety Forum (CSF) is linked to the Vibrant Communities Theme Team working under the New Ways Community Planning Partnership umbrella.  This new way of working brought together senior representatives from a wide selection of Private, Public and Voluntary Sector Agencies.  Meetings are held on a quarterly basis.
The forum itself is supported by a number of Action Groups who are responsible for developing and implementing the strategies and action plans. During the CSF meetings, feedback is given detailing progress and demonstrating how they are meeting the key objectives laid out in the  Strategy.

The Forum are continuously looking for people's thoughts, opinions and ideas which can raise public awareness to community safety.  If you would like to make any comment in relation to community safety or contribute to our website, please contact us online
