How to Contact Scrutiny

If you would like to contact Scrutiny or have any information that you think may be of interest to ongoing reviews please see below.

Your ideas:

If you want to suggest a topic or issue for Scrutiny to look into please note the following:

  • Your idea can include a policy of the Council or a service area – previous topics Scrutiny has looked into include Vetting of Taxi Drivers; Flood Prevention and Management, Care Home Facilities for Older People, Lottery Funding and how the Council carries out Projects (based on the Hawick Streetscape).
  • Your idea shouldn’t be an individual query, concern or complaint (e.g. planning application, hole in the road). If you do have such a query, concern or complaint please contact the Council’s main switchboard on 01835 – 824000.
  • When putting forward your idea clearly state what it is and why you want Scrutiny to look at it.

To put forward a topic or issue you can:

  • ask your Community Council representative on your Council Area Committee to put forward the suggestion at the October meetings in Tweeddale or Berwickshire or the November meetings in the other areas
  • get in touch with your local SBC councillor
