Corporate Plan

The Corporate Plan is reviewed on an annual basis and its purpose is to improve both the effectiveness and the efficiency of the Council.

Environmental Strategy and Action Plan

The environmental strategy is about action here in the Scottish Borders to protect and improve the local and global environment. It proposes actions to be carried out by the organisations that have become signatories to the strategy, and guidance for other groups and the general public.

Local Plan

The Local Plan sets out detailed policies and proposals for the development and use of land to guide planning decisions.

Race Equality Scheme

It is intended that this Race Equality Scheme will ensure that we mainstream race equality and place it at the centre of all functions and policymaking, service delivery, regulation, enforcement and employment practices.

Structure Plan

The Structure Plan, which is approved by Scottish Ministers, provides a long term vision for the Scottish Borders, looking forward at least ten years. It provides an overview of the area’s development requirements, and considers the functions and inter-relationship of places. It expresses the settlement strategy for the area and identifies priorities for urban and rural regeneration.
