Scottish Borders Council Corporate Records Retention Schedule

The Freedom of Information (Scotland ) Act Code of Practice on Records Management (issued November 2003) recommends that public authorities adopt procedures, policies and guidance on the disposal of records. In April 2008 the Corporate Management Team approved a corporate retention schedule for records created  by Scottish Borders Council. This document cites the minimum retention period for our records and how they will be disposed when they reach this date. The schedule applies to all records created after April 2008. The schedule will be reviewed annually to take into account any changes in legislation or business requirements.

The retention schedule is available to download as a pdf
