Biography:

Born a ‘Teri’ (native of Hawick) and has lived in Duns since 1966, teaching Mathematics at Berwickshire High School until retirement in 1989.  A widower, John has two children and two grandsons.  Local Government service started in 1989 following many years' as a Member and Secretary of Duns Community Council.  He has recently been involved in the production of the New Ways Environmental Strategy, the Council's Corporate Environmental Action Plan, and moves towards embedding environmental management systems in the Council's business processes.
