Head of Geography at Hawick High School 1972 - 1984 and Assistant Headteacher 1984 - 2002. Community involvement has focused on various roles at Hawick Rugby Club, Teviot Parish Church, Rotary and Hawick Online Website, but has also included periods with the town's Christmas Lights and Welcome Hosts groups. Leisure activities include gardening, travelling, or researching the family tree.
