Biography:
Kenneth Gunn has spent almost his entire life in Selkirk where he attended Knowepark Primary School and Selkirk High School. Further education at Heriot-Watt in Edinburgh where a College Pass in Typography and Design along with Linotype gave him the qualifications in the printing and newspaper trade which he followed for over 40 years. A follow-up at Stevenson College in Edinburgh added a Marketing degree too and Kenneth has been in the media for most of his working life. He is a full-time Councillor but away from the Council he is interested in music where he sings at Scots nights and Burns Suppers as well as being a member of the Hawick PSA Male Voice Choir. He also finds time to help his wife Wilma in running Scottish H.A.R.T., a charity which she set up to help young people in sport get a proper heart screening before taking up sport. The charity is dedicated to the couple's elder son Cameron who died playing football. Apart from that Kenneth finds time for hill walking and sports spectating.
