Biography:
Councillor Graham Garvie, Executive Member for Culture, Sport & Community Learning, Scottish Borders Council. Graham Garvie has been a member of the EU Committee of the Regions for five years serving first on the EDUC Commission and now on the COTER Commission. Formerly Chief Executive of Tweeddale District Council and Secretary of the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives, he has a very wide experience both in the UK and overseas in Local and National Government. He runs his own International Consultancy Business and has worked on many missions in the Balkans under the auspices of the FCO and the OSCE. Graham was a member of the Steel Commission. He is a regular columnist and co-author of “The New Management Agenda”
