Biography:

Councillor Graham Garvie, Member of the Committee of the Regions,and  Executive Member for Culture, Sport & Community Learning, Scottish Borders Council.  Graham Garvie has been a member of the Committee of the Regions for 3 three years serving first on the EDUC Commission and now on the COTER Commission. Formerly Chief Executive of Tweeddale District Council, he has a very wide experience both in the UK and overseas in Local and National Government.  He runs his own International Consultancy Business and has worked on many missions in the Balkans under the auspices of the FCO and the OSCE.  Graham is a Governor of Napier University and a member of the Steel Commission.  He is a regular columnist and co-author of “The New Management Agenda”
