SECTION 18
LICENSING BOARDS
There shall be constituted two Divisional Licensing Boards, namely the East Division and the West Division, meeting quarterly
and otherwise as required, and having the following constitution, quorum and functions.Constitution
1. East Division - Six Members, being one Member from each Ward in the Berwickshire, Cheviot and Teviot and Liddesdale Area Committee Areas.
West Division - Six Members, being one Member from each of the Tweeddale West, Tweeddale East, Selkirkshire and Leaderdale and Melrose Wards, and two Members from the Galashiels and District Ward.
Convener
2. The Convener and Vice-Convener of each Divisional Board shall be appointed annually by the Members of that Board from among their number.
Quorum
3. Three members of the Divisional Board shall constitute a quorum
Functions Referred
4. The following functions stand referred to the Boards in terms of the relevant Liquor Licensing and Betting & Gaming Legislation.
(i) All matters relating to Liquor Licensing.
(ii) The approval of disciplinary or enforcement action relating to Licensees.
(iii) All matters relating to Bookmakers' Permits, Betting Office Licences, Bingo Licences and Amusement with Prizes Permits for Liquor Licensed Premises
Functions Delegated
5. All functions referred to the Boards.
