The A1 runs from the south, through Berwick upon Tweed towards Edinburgh - and through East Lothian.
East Lothian has many golf courses - such as Gullane and Muirfield (The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers - based at Muirfield- is the oldest club in the world. Many times host to The Open, the course is perhaps the fairest test of a golfer’s ability to play links golf).
There is also the town of Musselburgh (with the oldest race cource in Scotland) and the Museum of Flight (home of the last Concorde to be decomissioned).
