Principal Role:
The Property Management Service is responsible for ensuring the Council's property portfolio is repaired and maintained efficiently and effectively, in order that the various Departments of the Council can operate in buildings fit for their purpose. The Service operates an energy conservation programme to ensure efficient and economic use of energy. The Service also maintains Joint Fire Board and Lothian and Borders Police properties in the Borders.
Impact on Public Safety:
The property asset, including buildings open to the public, is cared for and maintained in line with an Action Plan Strategy. The Strategy is designed to address health & safety, business critical, essential repairs and fitness for purpose issues.
