What we do:

The section manages waste in accordance with legislative requirements by providing Community Recycling Centres and Recycling Points which encourage the safe disposal of domestic and commercial waste, thus minimising the potential hazards they may pose to the environment and public safety. It works to increase the opportunities for recycling and recovery of waste and to minimise the total amount of waste sent to landfill. It also works in conjunction with Lothian and Border’s partner authorities in relation to longer term waste treatment facilities.
