General Service Statistics:

  • 30 kilometres of Berwickshire coastline (excluding harbours and private seas defences)
  • Designated coastal protection structures at Eyemouth sea wall and Cowdrait, Burnmouth

Principal Role:

To carry out the duties imposed by the Coast Protection Act and to inspect and maintain the coast protection structures at Eyemouth and Cowdrait.

Impact on Public Safety:

Sea wall inspections are carried out to assess any potential public safety issues
