Cleansing

General Information on the Cleansing Service

What we do:

The Service collects domestic and commercial waste from over 54,000 households (including bulky uplifts) and over 2900 premises respectively. It transports the waste to transfer stations for onward transfer to landfill. The Cleansing Service sweeps around 550 kilometres of streets  and around148,500 sq metres of car park  and maintains over 50 public toilets. In addition, it litter-picks public places, empties litter bins and controls dog fouling through a team of dedicated wardens.
