General Information on Bereavement Services

Borders Cemetry

What we do:

Bereavement Services provides an all encompassing service to help you in the event of a bereavement The section provides advice carries out public interments. It maintains grass and plants in churchyards and cemeteries. There is a headstone restoration programme - headstones are surveyed for stability and re-instated to make safe where necessary and there is a rolling programme for a period of time after burial to maintain a level surface on the grave. Graveyards cannot go on indefinitely - Bereavement Services has to identify and procure new land for interments. It also keeps burial records.
