This forms an action plan for housing over the next 5 to 10 years. The Housing (Scotland) Act 2001 placed a new duty on local authorities to produce a Local Housing Strategy (LHS) which forms an action plan for social rented housing over the next 5 to 10 years. Responsibility for this lies with the Council's Housing Strategy Team which is part of the Social Work Department. The Team are also responsible for: promoting domestic energy efficiency developing a range of initiatives aimed at Private Sector landlords.
