Criminal Justice Service

We know that the people of the Borders are worried about crime: it blights lives and prevents people from fulfilling their potential.  As part of Social Work Services, the Criminal Justice Team can help to reduce the impact of crime on individuals, families and communities.  By helping to reduce reoffending, we can help strengthen our communities.

The Criminal Justice Team is responsible for statutory assessment and supervision of adult offenders (aged 16 and over) who have been referred by the Courts, the Procurator Fiscal and the Parole Board.  We also provide assistance to witnesses and other people attending court and support both the families of prisoners and the victims of crime.
