Contact details for Melrose

Scottish Borders District, Melrose

A warm welcome awaits you in the Border town of Melrose

Melrose is nestled at the foot of the triple peaks of the Eildon Hills. It is a short walk from the town centre to the ruins of Melrose Abbey. This is the Abbey where it is believed that the heart of Robert the Bruce, King of Scots, is buried.

The town is peppered with stunning gardens some of which can be enjoyed by all. The gardens and the Abbey ruins provide a wonderful backdrop for wedding photographs.

The Registration Office in Melrose can be found in the town centre within the Ormiston Institute.

The Marriage Room, located on the ground floor, can accommodate up to 20 guests. For larger weddings the upper room within the Ormiston Institute can be made available for a small fee and can seat up to 50 guests.

Other licensed marriage venues are shown below. Wedding couples can also obtain their own licences for other venues of their choice, including unusual locations.
