Contact details for Jedburgh District

Scottish Borders District, Jedburgh

A warm welcome awaits you in the Border town of Jedburgh.

Jedburgh, once the favourite residence of Scottish Kings, lies only eight miles from the Border with England.

As you enter Scotland across the Carter Bar, you cannot fail to be impressed by the area's wild and wonderful scenery.  Like many of the Border towns, Jedburgh has had a turbulent past and despite the Abbey being burnt down in the 16th Century, it's ruins are still magnificent.

There are many lovely settings for photographs around the town.  A few worth a mention are Queen Mary's House, set in lovely gardens, the historic Abbey with the tracery of it's rose window and Jedburgh Castle, which proudly looks down on the town.

The Registration Office in Jedburgh, is the first on entering, and last on leaving Scotland, on the main A68 road.  It is located in the Library Building in Castlegate, only twenty yards from the main Market Square.

The Marriage Room comfortably accommodates up to 30 people. Other licensed marriage venues are shown below. Wedding couples can also obtain their own licences for other venues of their choice, including unusual locations.
