Contact details for Eyemouth

Scottish Borders District, Eyemouth

A warm welcome awaits you in the Border town of Eyemouth.

Eyemouth sits on a remote stretch of the Berwickshire coast, overlooking the North Sea.

Eyemouth's cobbled streets, wynds and narrow pends (the Scots word for archways) huddle together to form a traditional Scottish fishing town.

Eyemouth is only 5 miles north of the English Border. It has a long history of romantic elopements from England into the Scottish Borders at Lamberton and Mordington. Weddings were conducted there following unique marriage traditions, and the Registration Office is now located within easy walking distance of the picturesque harbour.

The Marriage Room can accommodate up to 30 people seated, with standing room for an additional 10 guests. Other licensed marriage venues are shown below. Wedding couples can also obtain their own licences for other venues of their choice, including unusual locations.

Coldingham Bay, within Eyemouth District, provides a romantic location for civil marriages to be conducted on the beach (temporary licence required).
