Contact details for Duns

Scottish Borders District, Duns

A warm welcome awaits you in the Border town of Duns.

Duns, county town of Berwickshire, nestles at the foot of Duns Law on the edge of the Lammermuir Hills, only 13 miles north of the English Border.

Within the area's secluded river valleys there are ancient kirks, castles, stately homes and private hotels, all providing a wonderfully romantic setting for couples who choose to marry in the Scottish Borders.

The Registration Office in Duns can be found in an imposing Victorian building in the town's Newtown Street.

The Marriage Room can accommodate up to 8 guests for small intimate weddings. For larger weddings the Burgh Chambers can be made available for a small fee. It can accommodate 30 guests seated, with standing room for an additional 20 guests. Other licensed marriage venues are shown below. Wedding couples can also obtain their own licences for other venues of their choice, including unusual locations.
