Migrant Workers Welcome

'Welcome to the Scottish Borders - A guide to help people from overseas who want to live and work in the Scottish Borders' Guide

The above booklet was first produced in 2007 to compliment the Migrant Support Service which are two projects undertaken by the multi-agency New Ways Foreign (Migrant) Workers Support Group (NWF(M)WSG), during 2006 - 2007.  Core funding for these projects was obtained from the Scottish Executive with additional funding from Scottish Borders Council, NHS Borders and the Scottish Border Housing Network.

The handbook is currently being updated and will be available in hard copies in English and Polish and also in PDF format in Russian, Portuguese and Lithuanian.

Further details on the Migrant Support Service can be obtained from Magda Wojcicka, Migrant Support Officer who is located at Eildon Enterprise, The Weaving Shed, Ettrick Mill, Dunsdale Road, Selkirk TD7 5EB, telephone 01750 724077 or e-mail MagdaW@eildon.org.uk who has put enormous effort and drive into helping support and guide those from overseas now living and working the Scottish Borders.

Please note that the information contained in the existing migrant handbook may be outdated.  The launch date and details of where you can obtain a copy of the updated booklet will be publicised on this page.
