Internal Funding
Scottish Borders Council is able to provide limited financial support to voluntary groups and organisations that are active within their communities. This covers a wide variety of activities, including arts, sports, young people, environmental improvement, community safety and much more. The amounts provided are subject to periodic review by the Council.
Support is given in terms of direct monetary grants as well as support in kind.
Grants are available mainly towards defined projects that can help groups to develop, expand or improve their services. In some circumstances, support grants can be given to help sustain the group itself. In general, the following principles apply:
-
Assistance will be given on the basis of merit, need and contribution to the community.
-
Applicants must clearly show that any assistance will benefit people living in the Borders.
-
The level of assistance will be determined by the Council's budget allocation and may be subject to contraint.
-
Any assistance given will be subjective to monitoring and evaluation of the outcome of the grant.
