Assessor and Electoral Registration Officer
The Assessor is also the Electoral Registration Officer for Scottish Borders.
- As Assessor, he is responsible for the compilation and publication of the Valuation Roll and the Council Tax Valuation List.
- As Electoral Registration Officer, he is responsible for the compilation and publication of the Register of Electors.
These are all statutory functions.

Staff Structure
The department consists of 7 professional staff, 4 technical staff and 11 administrative/clerical staff.
The Assessor has two Divisional Assessors - one for the Tweedale,Ettrick and Lauderdale Constituency, and one for the Roxburgh
and Berwickshire Constituency. They are both Statutory Depute Assessors.
