FUNDING GUIDE
External funding allows the Council to progress a wide range of actions and initiatives - from those required by local voluntary
groups to the strategic projects under the economic and regeneration proposals for the Scottish Borders.
The Business Improvement Unit is responsible for supporting the Council's objective of maximising external funding. We do this by :
- producing a
- developing an external funding strategy for New Ways covering EU, National Lottery and other sources (New Ways is the name we give to Community Planning in the Borders)
- supporting the work of the South of Scotland Objective 2 and Lowland Scotland Objective 3 Partnership,
providing lottery advice and support to Council services, partnership bodies, community and voluntary groups
participating in national lottery networks and local advisory groups - supporting trans-national linkages through supporting the Council's membership of the Conference of Peripheral and Maritime Regions, the North Sea Commission and the development of partnerships - the first being signed with the Sjuharad area in West Sweden.
The FUNDING GUIDE aims to provide simple and clear guidance, with contact details, for a variety of common funding sources and support agencies
and to support voluntary and community groups in particular to develop their ideas and actions.
